Privacy Policy

Ayat ("we", "the app") is a Quran scanning, translation, and recitation app maintained by the app owner. This page explains what data we handle and why. Ayat does not require an account.
What we collect
- Scanned images / uploaded PDF pages. When you scan or upload a page, the image is sent to our AI provider for OCR and translation, then discarded. We do not store images on our servers.
- Text-to-speech requests. Translated text is sent to our audio provider to generate recitation. Audio is streamed back and not retained.
- Daily scan quota. To enforce the 3 free scans per day, we store a one-way hash of your IP address with a daily counter. The raw IP is not kept. The counter resets at local midnight.
- Premium status. When you purchase Premium, the unlock flag is stored in your device's local storage. It stays on the device until the app is removed. No account is created.
- Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout — we never see or store them. Stripe sends us only the success status and a transaction id.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, names, emails, or passwords.
- No advertising identifiers or ad tracking.
- No location data.
- No contacts, photos, or files beyond what you explicitly scan or upload.
Third-party services
- AI provider — for OCR and translation of scanned pages.
- Text-to-speech provider — to generate recitation audio.
- Stripe — to process the one-time Premium purchase.
- Hosting infrastructure — to deliver the app over HTTPS.
Children
Ayat is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
Because there is no account, you can stop using the app at any time by removing it. Premium status, which is stored locally on the device, is removed with the app.
